Hello! I am Tia Williams from Cincinnati, Ohio. I will be going into my second year of the Counseling Psychology Master's program this fall. This is my 5th year in Kentucky because I did my undergraduate studies at Kentucky State University. I am not sure what the exact title of my occupation will be; however, I do know that I want to work with youth. I see myself possibly working with middle school and high school students in an urban school district. When it comes to my future career, I am open to exploring different avenues! I just want to love what I do and make an impact while I am doing it. I can be very opinionated at times, but I like to look and observe for the most part. So I am interested to see how I will fit with this online class. I also like to ask plenty of questions because I want to make sure that I am on the right track with the course work and understanding what I need to understand in order to excel in my academics. So with that being said, I definitely utilize office hours. An interesting fact about me is that I studied abroad last summer with the Semester at Sea program and visited seven different countries! It was the best experience of my life!
Thanks for this introduction, Tia. I'm looking forward to hearing about your semester at sea and about all the countries you visited. Perhaps early in our course we can talk about what makes study abroad and similar experiences such transformational learning experiences.
